How To Prepare
- Pour boiling water into a bowl and stir in the powder, using 1 part powder to 2–3 parts water.
- Allow the mixture to cool, or pour it into moulds to set. It can also be pasted onto rocks or décor for grazing fish.
- The gel will firm in around 30 minutes at room temperature.
Cut into cubes or thin strips before feeding. Prepared gel can be refrigerated for up to two weeks or frozen for up to six months.
For a Firmer “Jerky” Gel
- Prepare the gel as above and cut it into small cubes or strips.
- Dry completely in an oven or food dehydrator at 65°C (150°F) for 8–12 hours.
